relax & rebalance
Balance & reset
A holistic massage uses a combination of relaxing, deep tissue and advanced massage techniques to help bring restoration and balance to both body and mind, physically, mentally and emotionally.
Whether you are experiencing a specific area of tension, low energy or simply looking to relax; a holistic massage is the perfect way to restore balance and help connect both body and mind.
Massage has been something I've personally enjoyed for over twenty years in my own search for relaxation for a chronic health condition and help bring myself back to balance..
In 2012 I completed a holistic massage course with the London College of Massage and have since trained to support clients through more advanced massage techniques such as: deep tissue, myofascial release, acupressure, indian head massage, manual lymphatic drainage, pregnancy, hot and cold stones, reflexology and at the same time over the years developed my holistic toolkit to include other subtle healing modalities to support more than just the physical body but mental and emotional too, such as; reiki, craniosacral therapy, holistic coaching, yoga, breathwork, meditation and energy work.
Sessions take a holistic approach and can include a variety of any of these skills and techniques into a session dependent on your needs.
Healing and unwinding for the body
By working various pressure points and energy centres, holistic massage helps to:
> alleviate muscle tension and stiffness
> increase mobility and flexibility
> encourage better circulation and energy
> boost the immune system
> promote healing and general relaxation
> reduce stress and anxiety.
A holistic therapeutic massage is relaxing and rebalancing whilst being able to treat specific tension and pain you are experiencing through using deep tissue and advanced massage and trigger point techniques, as well as providing more energetic and subtle support through craniosacral therapy; listening to the various tension and restrictions within the body - specifically the fascia (the inter-connective tissue which surrounds the muscles) and facilitating release through 'unwinding' - a method which crosses over from advanced deep tissue techniques and craniosacral therapy - which provides support of the nervous system, also.
Fascial unwinding forms a key part of my massage approach - supporting the body through unwinding tension out of the tissues. Most often the head and neck area (a common area of tension especially for people in office environments or working on laptops, computers under prolonged periods of stress and tension which can lead to physical symptoms such as headaches, migraines, shoulder pain) and often unwinding of the arms and/or hands (again helping to assist with shoulder pain and various areas of tension in the tissues which can lead to conditions such as tennis elbow, RSI, carpal tunnel syndrome, frozen shoulder etc.). Also of the legs, feet and hips which can help with any specific pain or tension there as well as issues affecting the lower back.
Wellbeing support and aftercare advice through; lifestyle suggestions, self-massage of specific reflex points, self-care practices, nutrition, breathwork, yoga postures and recommended stretches will also be provided for you to do in-between sessions to help support you on your wellbeing journey.
